Day 01
Arrival and city tour of Old and New Delhi (Imperial Hotel).

Day 02
Fly to Jaisalmer, afternoon jeep safari to a Bhil tribal village of the area .Overnight at Hotel

Day 03
Tour this magnificent desert citadel.( Rawal Kot Palace).

Day 04
Drive to Jodhpur, afternoon jeep ride to villages of Bishnois. (Castle Hotel).

Day 05
Jhalmand- morning with the Rabari, afternoon the Muslim Mohils, famous for their pottery. (Castle Hotel).

Day 06
Drive to Kundal and Kakradi, the major settlements of the Rabari (camp).

Day 07
Drive to the Grassia settlement (camp).

Day 08
Drive to Kumbalgarh, visit the famous temples, afternoon walk to a small Bhil and Grassia village. (Hotel Aodhi).

Day 09
All day with the Grassia who practice traditional medicine. (Hotel Aodhi)

Day 10
Drive to Sita Mata sanctuary area, open air temple of the Meena and watch their ESP practices (camp/cottage).

Day 11
We devote all day to the Meena tribals (camp/cottage).

Day 12
Drive to Udaipur. (Haveli).

Day 13
City tour of Udaipur and Folklore Museum, tribal institute. (Haveli).

Day 14
Boat ride on Lake Pichola, afternoon flight to Delhi (Imperial Hotel).

Day 15
Return home.

Bishnoi

The villages are in habitated by the Bishnoi tribe who are staunch believers in the sanctity of plant and animal life. Villages are marked by Khejri trees and deers, which thrive there. The beautiful villages are home to several migratory birds, folk arts and authentic rural lifestyle.

Bhils

The Bhils compromise 39% of Rajasthan's tribal population. Their stronghold is Banswara. The generic term derives from Bhils, which describe their original talent and strength. The Bhils maintained their numbers by mingling with rebellious outcaste Rajputs.

According to legends, the Bhils were fine archers. Bhil bowmen are mentioned in both the Mahabarata and Ramayan. They were highly regarded as warriors and the Rajput rulers relied on them. Although originally food gatherers, the Bhils these days have taken up small-scale agriculture, city residence and employment.

The Baneshwar fair is a Bhil festival held near Dungarpur in January/February each year and large number of Bhils gathers for several days for singing, dancing and worshipping. Holi is another important time for Bhils. Witchcraft magic and superstition are deeply rooted aspects of the Bhil culture.

According to the legend,the Garasia tribals are descended from the chauhan Rajputs of Jalore in south-west Rajasthan.Some six centuries ago, after defeat in a battle, they fled to the hills,where they mingled their blood,their myths and rituals with the local Bhil tribals, to become a distinct group.Today, they form only 2.7% of the total tribal population of Rajasthan and are confined to the Pindwara and Abu Road regions of Sirohi, the kotra region of Udaipur and the Bali region of Pali district.
The Garasias have an interesting custom of marriage through elopement which usually takes place on the occasion of the annual gaur fair held during the full moon of March-April.

The Garasis celebrate 'nyat', a feast of honour, for their dead which is performed only on Mondays and a stone memorial called 'sura' is erected after the cremation.
